Compliance Manager – FTSE 250 Real Estate Business

The Audit & Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) are working with a leading real estate business based in Central London. Our client has recently gone through a period of rapid expansion after acquiring multiple smaller real estate businesses across Western and Northern Europe.  

A consequence of this growth, they need someone to manage and coordinate Compliance across its new businesses. Major areas of concern include AML (anti-money laundering) and client acceptance, anti-bribery and corruption.

This role will involve travel up to 50% of the time.

Job description

  • Be the go-to for all issues related to Compliance for your allocated countries in Europe. This will include visiting offices, providing and coordinating training, and implementing compliance programmes with local employees.
  • Support the business as they develop a consistent approach to Compliance.
  • Review, support and implement new policies for issues including, amongst others: AML, client acceptance, ant-bribery, corruption, GDPR
  • Be involved in strategic initiatives, for example financial modelling.
  • Work closely with Internal Audit and Risk Management to help improve business processes, particularly related to Compliance.

Person specification

  • Excellent communication skills. Must be willing and keen to build relationships with multiple personnel.
  • Analytical and forensic eye for detail.
  • Qualified accountant with Internal Audit, Internal Controls or Risk Management experience.
  • Any experience in AML will be highly desired, along with client acceptance, anti-bribery and corruption.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
