New posts at the Office for Students

Competition and Registration Managers

Pay band 11 £68,668 - £72,101

Based in Bristol

The OfS is the new independent regulator for higher education in England.  We were created this year to ensure that all students, whatever their background, have a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers.

We're building a new team to regulate universities and colleges and want to make a number of new appointments to posts at different levels.

It's important to us that our growing team is more diverse so we encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and identities.  We’re especially keen to hear from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates who are currently under-represented.  We’re also a Disability Confident employer – we’ll provide a fully accessible recruitment process and offer an interview to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the job.

We’re happy to receive applications for full time, part-time, job share or secondment opportunities.

To work with us, you don’t need to be an expert in higher education, but you will have a passion for the OfS's mission and for making a difference for all students.

If you can show us that you're an experienced leader with regulatory expertise you could be right to join our group of Managers.  You'll be able to manage the work of a flexible team and ensure that we know we’re providing an excellent service to the universities and colleges we regulate.  You'll also be able to get to grips with our regulatory system and think creatively about how we should regulate.

As well as an exciting opportunity to be part of something new, we provide our staff with a comprehensive staff development programme, 25 days’ annual leave, and the opportunity to join the Civil Service Pension scheme.

You’ll need to apply by 5pm on 16 December and we'll be interviewing in the week commencing 7 January 2019.

If you’d like to know more we'd love to talk to you, and you can call 0117 931 7306 and speak to one of the team.  You can find a detailed job description for these posts together with details of how to apply on our website via the 'Apply' button.
