Job Details

Future Finance is changing the consumer credit landscape in the UK. To date, we have helped over 11,000 students to access University and build their credit profile by providing fair, flexible loans. We recently launched a new loan product for graduates, and will be expanding our suite of products this year to continue to reach more deserving people.

We are looking for a senior Compliance professional to join our team in Dublin. This role reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and will be responsible for managing the company's second line of defence by promoting our compliance responsibilities in our Operations Centre and ensuring awareness of consumer finance lending regulatory requirements. You will be the go to compliance person for our Operations team.

About You

Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, the ideal candidate will have had experience of managing and mitigating compliance risks within a fintech consumer lending environment. You will have knowledge of all aspects of data protection, electronic payments, complaints management and AML. You will be a self-starter who can work independently whilst liaising effectively with stakeholders across the entire business. Crucially, you have an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive attitude, focused on finding workable solutions with a keen awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and regulatory environment.

There are no pure management roles in Future Finance; we operate a philosophy of One Team, so we expect everyone - especially senior management - to own plans and projects, but also to be able to get granular and dig into the data.

Your Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, provide compliance oversight, advice and guidance to the business relating to FCA regulation and as applicable, Central Bank of Ireland regulation, as it relates to industry codes and guidance
  • Complete second line of defence monitoring and related activities in line with the Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Review the existing policies, procedures and processes to ensure that they are appropriate and kept up to date, including those relating to Data Protection and AML
  • Oversee the delivery of appropriate compliance training for employees, executives and the Board
  • Collaborate with business operations to ensure that all business is conducted in line with the applicable compliance regulations, guidance and internal policies and procedures
  • Provide support to managers on compliance matters
  • Maintain and promote our culture of Treating Customers Fairly, and report on the effectiveness of TCF KPIs to the Executive and the Board
  • Engage with third party compliance auditors
  • Manage relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland

Your Must Haves

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a compliance function within Consumer Finance, with knowledge of financial services laws and experience of the regulatory requirements within FCA Handbook and other relevant regulatory bodies
  • Experience in a fast paced operations centre environment: compliance monitoring, oversight, reporting and MI analytics
  • Recent experience of drafting and reviewing compliance policies and standard operating procedures
  • Execution-focused, with intellectual strength and the flexibility to quickly metabolise complex issues and provide workable solutions
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to deal with complex issues and projects whilst managing multiple (and potentially conflicting) stakeholder requirements and teams in numerous jurisdictions
  • High energy levels and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Relevant industry qualifications, including QFA, ACOI, and ICA
  • Flexible and adaptable style with good critical thinking and analytical skills

Your Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with the key components of data privacy regulation and particularly how the GDPR applies to a lending business
  • Ability to work across our technology, credit and operations teams to ensure compliance with Law and effective monitoring at an early stage of product/feature development and for the entire lifecycle of the product
