Compliance Manager

My client are a global provider of financial services products to the retail market. Due to an internal move, Jefferson Tiley are assisting with the appointment of a Compliance Manager who will focus on regulatory and conduct risk and will support the transformation and growth of the business.

Based in the City of London, you will be responsible for managing a team of one person and will report into the Head of Compliance.

• You will utilise your strong interpersonal and influencing skills as you build relationships with the business leaders. You will provide high quality conduct and compliance advice to support the company's business and project related activities ensuring regulatory risks and issues are managed appropriately in accordance with the agreed risk appetites. Working with the Compliance team, you will support the business in the implementation of regulatory change through to delivery by providing subject matter compliance expertise.
• You will develop and embed the existing risk frameworks across the business but will be keen to tweak and improve these as you settle into the role and understand what the business need to improve and streamline their processes, whilst being mindful of rules and regulations.
• You will be a conduct risk champion within the business and will work with Business Partners to ensure that new and emerging risks are identified and mitigated immediately. Conduct risk and awareness of is embedded in the fabric of this business and it is a critical part of the role.
• You will provide compliance oversight for any new product, customer or third party materials that will be communicated with the wider public.
• You will be responsible for running business wide reporting on all regulatory and conduct risks for the executive team and Board meetings.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

• Working experience within the equity release and/or mortgage markets and knowledge of the FCA rules relating to these areas.
• Conduct and regulatory risk experience
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. This will be a critical part of the role as so much of this position will be working alongside the business and providing support.
• Excellent analytical and report writing skills
