Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be working on behalf of a leading Research and development business in Edinburgh to recruit a Financial Accountant. Leading the way in innovation, our client produce cutting edge health care products to the market and have a quality approach across all of their operations. Through restructure this newly created role has been identified to add value across operations, giving commercial and analytical insight to financial matters to enable the business to continue on this significant growth trend.

Your new role
As financial accountant you will report directly to the financial controller and as part of a team of 4. Our client has a group turnover of circa 150 million where the R&D team contributes heavily. You will be responsible for monthly accounts production, p&l and balance sheet reporting as well as stock accounting and variance analysis. You will work as part of an innovative culture with industry experts in the field.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a strong technical skill set with strong reporting and business partnering skills. As a qualified accountant you will be involved in supporting the development of financial reporting processes, detailed cash flow forecasting and financial planning and analysis awareness. You will also oversee the smooth running of AP & AR functions across the business with the ability to add value across continuous improvement.
