Job Details

Enza Zaden is a vegetable breeding company that develops vegetable varieties. And produces and sells its seeds all over the world. Both for conventional and organic horticulture.

For over 80 years we have been working with the best that nature offers us. And we support that with innovative technologies. In this way we make the breeding process faster and more efficient. And that is necessary, because the development of a new vegetable variety currently takes about 6 to 10 years.

The result? Strong, healthy and tasty vegetable varieties that yield more per m2, require fewer crop protection agents and are resistant to the changing climate.

Our strength? More than 2000 passionate colleagues worldwide who work together every day on the vegetables of tomorrow. With our Enza Academy we therefore continuously invest in new knowledge and skills and under the banner of EnzActive we organize various sports activities to stay fit.

Enza Zaden breeds, produces and sells vegetable seed in more than 100 countries around the world.

As a Trade Compliance Specialist, you proactively collect relevant laws and regulations, especially in the field of phytosanitary and other matters related to market access. You analyze this information and support its implementation within the organization. One of your tasks is to prepare and implement the (internal) communication on (inter)national laws and regulations with regard to the relevant requirements. You have an important role in suggesting and implementing process improvements for our department, so that we can work together even more efficiently and effectively. In addition, you also work in various cross-functional projects on the implementation of phytosanitary requirements within the company.

Since Trade Compliance influences Enza Zaden in many ways, you not only work with different departments in the Netherlands, but also worldwide. International trade regulations are changing rapidly and have a major impact on access to the international market, making this position very active and varied.

You report to the Trade Compliance Manager and you are part of the Trade Compliance team. Your focus is on trade regulations related to phytosanitary requirements.

Your excellent analytical and organizational skills allow you to process large amounts of information well. Because you have a flexible mindset, you can easily switch between different tasks. You are a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, and you can easily make contacts at all levels.

You take end-to-end responsibility. You enjoy looking critically at current processes and tools and actively coming up with proposals for improvement. You also have a strong affinity with ethics and compliance.

In short, you;

  • have a completed Master's degree in (Agricultural) Business Administration, Legal Affairs or Food Law & Regulatory Affairs from Wageningen University (WUR);
  • You bring relevant work experience in the field of regulatory affairs or dealing with procedures, protocols, laws and regulations, import and export (this is a plus), or other work experience that fits well with this position;
