Our client is a very successful European mid-cap buyout firm, which has expanded into the DACH market with an office in Munich. They are now looking to hire a Compliance Officer. You will be responsible for internal controls, insurance, tax & transfer pricing. Furthermore, you will be in charge of the improvement of processes and structures. The position is based in Munich, Germany.

Our client is a very successful European mid-cap buyout firm, which has expanded into the DACH market with an office in Munich. They are now looking to hire a Compliance Officer. You will be responsible for internal controls, insurance, tax & transfer pricing. Furthermore, you will be in charge of the improvement of processes and structures. The position is based in Munich, Germany.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the internal control, compliance and audit work
- Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met and keep up with changes regarding compliance procedures in accounting and auditing
- Manage transfer pricing and tax compliance process; coordinate and manage tax audits
- Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end practices
- Cost analysis and suggestions for cost cuts, where appropriate
- Identify risks to delivery and propose solutions where necessary
- Working closely with the legal team, identify and mitigate tax risks
- Oversee the preparation of all tax papers on a regular basis and handle all information data requests in cooperation with external and internal partners
- Manage D&O and other insurance programs; manage brokers and interact with portfolio companies
- Support the organisation by collecting and coordinating internal compliance data with auditors and various departments
- Address specific training and development needs to fill compliance gaps
- Support during fundraising
- Ensure that relevant systems are reliable, compliant and in a condition to support current activities and future growth
- Lead and develop any co-operation partners
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines; an additional qualification, such as CIA, is a plus
- Significant relevant experience in either auditing, accounting, internal controlling, structuring or tax
- Strong technical knowledge in tax, internal controlling, compliance, auditing and structuring
- Previous experience in Private Equity is a plus, though not a must
- Strong IT and communication skills
- Highly motivated, hands-on with a "can-do"-attitude
- You can work well under pressure and strive to deliver excellence
- Fluency in English and German is required
