HEAD OF COMPLIANCE - COMMERCIAL INSURANCE
ST ALBANS
GBP40,000 to GBP60,000 SALARY - PART TIME AVAILABLE
THE OPPORTUNITY:
One of the regions most well established Insurance firms is now looking to expand after a recent acquisition and has a position for a Head Of Compliance to join them just outside St Albans. The candidate will need to be highly motivated to grow their career within the compliance profession and have previous experience to a high level and give them the best foundation for the role.
THE PACKAGE:
GBP40,000 to GBP60,000
Ongoing Training and a Clear Development Path with study support provided if you wish to progress with further qualifications.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The principal purpose of the role is to support the leadership of the firm in discharging their duties to operate an ethical and compliance business, meeting the requirements of regulators, The jobholder will act as the Compliance Function Holder and MLRO, the Data Privacy Officer and the Company Secretary.
Develop and implement a risk-based compliance monitoring program, identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting all material compliance risks.
Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant laws and regulatory requirements, provide advice and guidance to all staff enabling them to take accountability and implement policies and procedures to remain compliant with relevant regulations and industry legislation.
Take lead and advise on the requirements of key regulatory changes such as the FCA's Consumer Duty reforms.
Arrange the completion and submission of Companies House Annual Returns for the subsidiary
Develop and maintain local legal and compliance policies and procedures to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Communicate with regulators in respect of compliance issues including all material and non-routine correspondence.
Reviewing marketing materials/financial promotions and other reporting related materials across the business from a legal, regulatory and compliance perspective.
Manages and/or influences projects, new product development, advertising plans to ensure that compliance requirements/standards are met in a cost effective and timely manner
Responsible for the execution of strategy and the development, management and delivery of Data Protection and Privacy arrangements that facilitate the company's compliance with regulations.
Working with the development team and manage the contractual requirements for partnerships contracts. .
Take responsibility for overseeing data privacy compliance program.
QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS:
Ideally with a legal background or related subject.
An experienced compliance / regulatory professional with a broad range of skills (including compliance monitoring, risk assessment, and advice).
Experience of communicating with regulators, including preparing for meetings and inspections with regulators.
Proven ability to influence business colleagues and deliver sound, workable and compliant solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and confidently express observations and recommendations.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
