The Audit and Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) has been exclusively mandated by our client, a major UK Financial Institution, to assist in their search for a Compliance Monitoring Officer.
You will be joining a growing function with a strong emphasis on working closely with internal audit and other second line assurance functions to provide effective compliance management.
The role
Activities will include pre-activity approvals, transaction reviews, reviews of in-process quality checks and outcome data, data collection, review, reporting, program coordination, oversight, and support to other functions in the business.
Working with colleagues and supporting the Head of Compliance Monitoring, prepare the annual risk-based compliance monitoring program for the Banking Division and plan resourcing to ensure that this is adhered to
Undertake appropriate preparatory work ahead of on-site visits, liaising with relevant business areas as required
Lead on-site monitoring reviews and produce high quality monitoring reports in a timely manner, clearly identifying issues and required actions
Conduct compliance monitoring and financial crime monitoring reviews and supervise team members in carrying out reviews, dealing with technical and administrative issues as they arise
Assist in performing internal investigations, as required
Role Requirements
Experience of delivering financial crime reviews as part of a second or third line assurance team.
Monitoring experience (Testing and closing)
Knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations, Bribery Act requirements and other financial crime matters.
High degree of analytical proficiency, working with large volumes of data from various divisional IT systems.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
As appropriate to the role, ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
Experience of compliance monitoring activities or experience and / or auditing compliance functions
Demonstrable understanding of existing regulatory expectations in areas such as outsourcing, conduct rules, complaints handling, management and treatment of vulnerable customers
Qualification such as ICA or useful but not mandatory
